YNW Melly’s murder case was supposed to be on speedy trial this month but that is not a thing in the pandemic day and age. After some brief changes the jury selection process is set to begin early next month on April 4th.
Melly is currently facing first-degree murder charges. YNW Melly and his friend Cortlen “YNW Bortlen” Henry were arrested for allegedly murdering their two close friends, Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams.
The recent development in the ongoing case revolves around Melly’s cameraman and the video director, DrewFilmedIt. As per court reports circulating online, DrewFilmedIt was subpoenaed to appear as part of Melly’s case in front of a judge.
The prolific video director DrewFilmedIt has been an structural part for Melly’s career in the past few years. He is known to have filmed videos for “Disturbia,” “Freestyle,” “Medium Fries,” and many of Melly’s other vlogs before his incarceration.
Melly’s murder case trial is scheduled for May 23 in Florida which is a month and a half after the jury selection process is completed. Not to long ago, there was also 66 pages of evidence submitted against Melly that proves that he indeed committed the said murders.
When this murder happened, it shocked the entire rap world, and with all the evidence against Melly, it seems like he won’t get out of this. The prosecution team is moving fast towards Melly getting the death penalty and not life in prison. Either way, it looks like it could be over for Melly.
