Kid Cudi is famous for his wild social media presence. The rapper has often been trolled on social media for his bold style statements. It seems the relentless trolling forced him to step away from social media.
Kid Cudi is saying goodbye to social media. On Saturday, the Grammy-winning rapper announced his decision via Twitter. He previously expressed his concerns over online toxicity and its affect on his mental health.
This isn’t the first time Cudi stepped away from social media. Several years ago, he deactivated his social media handles after checking himself into rehab to address his anxiety, depression, and suicidal urges.
Kudi told fans Saturday they were a big reason for his return, but the constant negativity from trolls was ruining his experience. He wrote on Twitter, “There’s a lot of love out there for me, which is why I got back on socials, but some of the shit I see, the trolls, I don’t need to see that sh*t.”
The rapper’s most recent Instagram post was a selfie that was shared Saturday afternoon. Later on, Cudi wrote on Twitter that it would be his last one that he personally shares. He wrote, “So I think that pic is my last post. From here on out I’ma have my team make posts,” Cudi reassured his followers that he wasn’t in a bad space, and was, in fact, “very happy.”
