Things can sometimes heat up at the ball field, but Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado never wanted to see heat like this. Flames engulfed a portion of the stadium and that is not a good sign in the Mile High City.
The Denver Broncos’ home stadium was on fire for a bit today. TMZ reported that the blaze is roaring and there is no word how it started. It appears that several sections of the stadium were totally destroyed.
Thankfully, the fire is out. They had sprinklers that helped do the trick. Firefighters showing up to extinguish the blaze really helped seal the deal.
The flames went out, but it still did a ton of damage and it’s not clear at this time exactly how much damage it did or how much work it will take to repair the damage. It wasn’t reported whether there is an open investigation by authorities.
Mile High opened in 2001 and they have hosted games, concerts and soccer events. It could reportedly become one of the game locations for the 2026 World Cup. Hopefully, they’ll be able to fix things up before then.
