Paige VanZant is officially beginning a new career as a professional wrestler. The former UFC star has already appeared several times on television for WWE’s rival promotion All Elite Wrestling. Now, she is set to make a return to BKFC.
VanZant will make her return to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship on July 9. She will make her return in the main event as announced by company president Dave Feldman on Thursday. The event will take place in Alexandra Palace in London. Her opponent has not yet been announced.
This comes after she suffered back to back losses in UFC. The former MMA strawweight and flyweight suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Britain Hart in her debut in February 2021. VanZant suffered a unanimous decision defeat to fellow UFC alum Rachael Ostovich in July 2021.
Paige VanZant went into a state of depression after the losses but she is now bouncing back. Earlier this month, she also signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling as her latest venture. Now, VanZant will be joining the other former UFC fighters Mike Perry and Chad Mendes, who both picked up BKFC wins earlier this year.
This will be a start of a new chapter in VanZant’s life. Hopefully there are only good things in store for her. Her popularity has dwindled a little bit over the years but she is bound to gain it back.
