Gable Steveson’s tremendous performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year helped him become a huge star in the world of sports. His stock only continued to rise since then and it is not hard to see why. Ric Flair also shared his take on what WWE should do with the young talent.
After a lot of teases and speculation, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract last year. He was already drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the WWE Draft last year.
While speaking on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored show, Ric Flair stated that he believes Gable Steveson needs to train more as a pro wrestler before starting anything serious. Flair added that he thinks WWE should just focus on training Gable Steveson for one year first.
“I do not believe Gable Steveson has had much opportunity to – I know he’s been at the Performance Center, but I wouldn’t think that with the way he’s had to condition and prepart for not only the Olympics but the NCAA plus another year of collegiate wrestling. I would not necessarily let him do anything until he’s really good.
I, myself, if I was in charge, I would spend a year building him because you can’t learn overnight. The only guy I’ve seen – we talk about him all the time – who learned overnight is Kurt Angle. But I’m not saying Gable can’t and he doesn’t have the ability, I don’t know.”
WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle even previously revealed that he would love to manage Gable Steveson. It remains to be seen whether Steveson will succeed in WWE or not.
