Avril Lavigne made a career out of entertaining pop-punk fans. After rising to prominence in the early 2000s, she has remained a popular figure in the industry. She has several accolades and nominations under her name. She might not have her own biopic yet, but she has already decided on who she wants to play her.
The 38-year-old singer was recently on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Awards. There she was asked a question that every celebrity eventually gets. When asked who she’d like to play her in a biopic, she named Kristen Stewart.
“Oh… I’m trying to think… umm, like Kristen Stewart would be cool, to play me in a film,” Lavigne answered. “Yeah, she’s dope, yeah,” she added during the interview. There might not be a biopic in the works yet; she did tease back in December that she was considering turning her hit 2002 single Sk8er Boi into a movie.
Early this month, Taylor Swift sent Lavigne a nice present of flowers and a note to celebrate her latest album, Love Sux. Swift, who has won 11 Grammy Awards, called herself a “forever fan” of the pop-punk icon.
Lavigne saw musical success as early as the age of 17 and since then has paved the way for female-driven, punk-influenced pop music in the early 2000s. She is regarded as one of the key musicians in the development of the sub-genre.
