Jorge Masvidal has worked hard to make a name for himself in the world of MMA. He is also known for riling up people with his comments. Masvidal also pleaded not guilty in the latest case against him.
The rivalry between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal is something many MMA fans know well by now. The two were once close friends and trained together at the same place. However, they eventually started hating each other.
Recently, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington were involved in a fight at a Miami club. It was said that Covington suffered fractured teeth and abrasions on his wrist. As previously reported, Masvidal was arrested on aggravated assault charges.
Marc Raimondi of ESPN took to Twitter and reported that Jorge Masvidal is no longer in police custody after he “made bond overnight.” He also plead not guilty to the aggravated assault charges.
Jorge Masvidal made bond overnight in Miami and is no longer in custody. His first appearance in court will be April 21, per records. He is being charged with aggravated battery with bodily harm and criminal mischief, both felonies.
Also Thursday, Masvidal entered a written plea of not guilty in the battery case, where he is being accused of punching UFC rival Colby Covington outside a Miami Beach steakhouse Tuesday night.
Masvidal’s decision to plead not guilty does not necessarily make sense as he essentially confessed to attacking Covington. We will keep you updated on this ongoing case.
