Nas has been nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards, which will be held in Las Vegas. The Recording Academy announced new artists for the upcoming ceremony. Despite J. Prince’s request for a hip-hop boycott, Nas will perform at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Nas, Jon Batiste, Foo Fighters, H.E.R., and Chris Stapleton are among the artists on the bill. Nas will perform alongside Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Brothers Osborne, BTS, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo, who were all previously announced. A tribute to Stephen Sondheim will also feature Cynthia Erivo, Ben Platt, Leslie Odom Jr., and Rachel Zegler.
A few days after J. Prince urged that hip-hop artists boycott the Grammys, the Recording Academy released the entire list of performers. The creator of Rap-A-Lot Records even proposed hosting a rival event with Drake, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.
Come together in Las Vegas and perform at the same time as the Grammys on a special network and streaming platform to prove that ratings will change where the Grammys are concerned when the No. 1 selling genre in music – Hip Hop – come together. Because there’s power in numbers.
Before this year’s awards event, Nas was nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album. In 2021, he earned his first Grammy. The 2022 Grammy Awards will be televised live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The awards show will be broadcast on CBS and streamed live on Paramount Plus.
