Hot off his performance in the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Eminem is on his way to breaking records now with his album ‘Recovery.’ It’s pretty common for Marshall Mathers to rack up big W’s, but this one is impressive even for him.
Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ has now sold over 46 million copies worldwide. This particular number combines albums and track units and Marshall’s classic album. In the end, it placed ‘Recovery’ at No. 4 among the five highest RIAA certified projects of all time. ‘Recovery’ is also the only hip-hop album on the list.
On the list, there’s ‘Teenage Dream’ by Katy Perry which has sold 64.5 million followed by ‘Thriller by Michael Jackson which has sold over 56 million, and then ‘Doo-Wops’ by Bruno Mars which has sold 48 million copies. On No. 4 there’s ‘Recovery’ by Eminem which has sold a total of 46 million and then at No. 5 there’s ‘1989’ by Taylor Swift selling 45 million copies.
When compared with only certified track units, Eminem’s project, with 38 million copies sold, shares the third spot with Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy.’
In March 2022, the RIAA certified 8 ‘Recovery’ times platinum for sales of over 8 million in the United States itself. The international sales value is of course expected to be much higher. Listen to the album below!
