Lin-Manuel Miranda was also set to make an appearance at the star studded Oscar event. However, it appears he will have to skip this year’s red carpet after his wife tested positive for Covid.
TMZ reports that the “Hamilton” mastermind said, “Made it to Hollywood … This weekend, my wife tested [positive] for COVID.” Lin further assured his fans that his wife is “doing fine. Kids & I have tested [negative], but out of caution, I won’t be going to the Oscars tomorrow night.”
Nonetheless, he was rooting on “Cheering for my Tick, Tick… Boom!” to win big at the Oscars. The film’s lead, Andrew Garfield is up for Best Actor.
Keeping in mind the Covid pandemic, the event organizers made sure that everything goes out safely. To gain gain entry into the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, attendees will have to produce proof of vaccination and not one but 2 negative PCR tests.
However, there are exceptions to this rule, performers and presenters don’t have to show proof of vaccination. It’s hard to wrap our head around this loop hole. However, the Covid mandates go way beyond L.A. County Health Dept. guidelines, most of which have been lifted as numbers continue to go down.
Meanwhile, we will be on the lookout for more updates. Stay tuned to Thirsty.
