Ryan Gosling Was Almost Set For Atlanta Cast

Atlanta was filmed in Georgia for the first 2 seasons of the show. In season 3, the show had a change in the setting, which is why they had to go to England in order to shoot. The show has a cast of Glover, Bryan Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz. The third season of Atlanta premiered on FX on March 24.

Following the airing of episode one earlier this week, Donald Glover claimed that Ryan Gosling was almost cast in the third season of Atlanta. During an interview with People during the season 3 premiere, Glover highlighted the squandered chance.

He said he was a big fan, but he had something else, and it just didn’t work out. I was so bummed because the part was so great for him!

Glover went on to say that he and Gosling spoke on the phone and that they were about to do it, but that an unexpected problem arose. Glover did not specify what part Gosling might have played, although the Oscar-nominated actor has previously expressed interest in working on Atlanta.

During an interview with Metro in 2017, Gosling expressed his interest in the project. Gosling isn’t the only well-known actor that was unable to attend the Atlanta Film Festival. Glover recently said that he wanted Jaden Smith to star in the show. New episodes of Atlanta are currently streaming on Hulu.
