Zendaya found success at every step of her career as a result of her talent and dedication. She has won a Primetime Emmy, a Satellite Award, and a Saturn Award, among others. Zendaya is a quadruple punch as an actress, singer, dancer, and now cosmetics artist. She didn’t win at the 2022 Oscars, but the Euphoria actress still drew attention.
MJ herself stated on Instagram earlier this week that she performed her own makeup for the Oscars in 2022. She wore a Valentino Haute Couture crop top and sequined skirt with silver eyeshadow, a glossy nude lip, and bronzed cheeks on the red carpet.
“Every now and then I do my own beat,” the “Dune” star told her 136 million Instagram followers in a snap posted to her Stories. She then shared a photo of her Vanity Fair afterparty appearance, which featured a black Sportmax pantsuit and a more dramatic, smokey makeup look. “And then I switched up the eye,” she joked.
In both photos, the Lancôme ambassador tagged the cosmetics brand, implying that she used its products to achieve both looks. Sheika Daley, who handled the makeup for model Anok Yai and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland for Oscars weekend, is Zendaya’s go-to makeup artist. She tweeted a flashback shot of the star from the 2018 Oscars before the festivities began.
Zendaya “takes chances and likes to experiment with new ideas,” according to Daley, who previously told Vogue UK. This isn’t the first time Z has taken on the role of cosmetic artist herself. She took a selfie in January 2016 with the message “I need to start doing makeup tutorials”.
Zendaya gave Teen Vogue a few “DIY makeup tips” the same year, advising her followers to “go with the natural idea of your eyebrows” and remove their makeup before night. Zendaya’s Oscars outfit was notable for more than just her handmade dazzle. The celebrity also loaded her wrists with about six Bvlgari Serpenti bracelets, which range in price from $28,600 to $52,000 each, as admirers pointed out on TikTok.
