Adrian Wojnarowski, who isn’t even a player or a coach, is one of the most well-known names in the NBA. Instead, he works for ESPN as an NBA insider. He’s the man behind all of the sport’s greatest stories.
If you follow him on Twitter, you’ve probably gotten a lot of insider information from him. He’s always up against The Athletic’s Shams Charania, and Woj brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Woj was recently signed to a multi-year contract by ESPN.
While the amount was not disclosed, we can only assume it was a massive contract. Woj is, after all, the most well-known name in basketball media right now, and for good reason. He made a statement about his new contract in a press release.
I’m eager to continue working with a remarkable group of colleagues and grateful for ESPN’s relentless commitment to newsgathering and reporting. My profound appreciation to Jimmy Pitaro, Cristina Daglas, Norby Williamson, Dave Roberts, Lauren Reynolds, Greg Dowling, David Kraft and the entire universal news desk for the support, vision and leadership that makes ESPN such a remarkable place to do my job. Also, a thank you to my representative Matt Kramer for helping to bring and keep me at ESPN.
Woj is the best element of ESPN’s NBA coverage in the eyes of many basketball fans, and he is someone they need to keep for a long time. In fact, Woj’s contract with the network was due to expire, and there were rumors that ESPN would not be able to keep him for the long haul. Keep an eye on Thirsty for latest news from the NBA world.
