Paige VanZant is one of the most well-known names in the world of MMA. This is despite the fact that her track record in MMA world isn’t anything to write home about. There are also doubts over her ability to succeed in AEW.
The former UFC fighter recently signed with Tony Khan’s company and since then has been training in the art of professional wrestling. She was part of AEW programming long before she signed a contract as well.
While speaking on his podcast, Hall of Fame, Booker T made it clear that he doubts Paige VanZant will succeed in pro wrestling.
“I just don’t think it [pro wrestling] appears to be for Paige VanZant. I mean, she will not understand it overnight or anything like that; I could be wrong. But just seeing Paige VanZant is interested in and actually doing a wrestling match, being around, getting that cheque, being on TV, being a part of the club, I get it. But actually coming out and putting the work and performing out there, I don’t see that.”
Paige VanZant is also expected to take a break from AEW to prepare for her other obligations. We’ll have to see how she will fare in AEW.
