Camilla Cabello is only a few months removed from her break-up with singer Shawn Mendes, who she dated for more than a couple of years. She recently hit the beach in Miami after ex Shawn Mendes released a new single about her. It seems she about up about the paparazzi photos that circulated online.
Camila Cabello recently revealed her fragility when it comes to her body and the pressure she feels to put up a good show for the paparazzi, who follow her around the beach at all hours of the day. The pop artist spoke out about a set of photos that paparazzi were capturing and selling.
It is typical procedure for A-listers and something they’ve been doing for years. The difference here is that Camila plainly has a problem with it. It’s not just with the photographers who go to such measures to shoot her in public, but with how society perceives those photographs and the repercussions it has on her confidence.
I’ve worn bikinis that were (too) small and paid no mind to how I looked, then saw pictures online and comments and been so upset. I reminded myself when it impacted myself esteem that I was thinking the culture’s thoughts and not my own. A culture who has gotten so used to an image of what a “healthy” woman’s body looks like that is completely not real for a lot of women.
Camila went on to describe the photographs, stating that she avoided eating anything substantial and was sucking in her core continually because she knew it was going to turn into a full-fledged photoshoot thanks to the paparazzi there. Camila feels that’s a dreadful way to live, and she said she suffers with feeling obligated to depict herself in a fake image imposed on her by society’s beauty standards.
