Chris Rock Refuses To Talk About Will Smith While Playing A Surprise Set At Comedy Cellar

Chris Rock is still recovering from the sudden outburst of emotions that made Will Smith slap him at the Oscars. He hasn’t said any words about the incident after it had happened. He keeps up with that while performing a surprise set at Comedy Cellar.

Chris Rock performed a surprise set at Comedy Cellar Tuesday night. However, kicked it off by telling the audience that he would not talk about the Will Smith slap. A person from the audience told Page Six about what happened at the beginning of the whole set.

The audience spy also says that Rock joked he was workshopping material. It’s because “all the sudden people cared about his early shows.” Sam Morril, Judy Gold, and Yamaneika Saunders also performed at the New York City club that night.

Rock has declined to address Smith slapping him at the 2022 Oscars ever since the incident took place. He has also launched his comedy tour in Boston last week amid this chaos. “I had a whole show before this weekend, I’m still processing,” he said of the incident.

Rock later told the attendees he would address it at some point, “but right now I’m going to tell some jokes.” Meanwhile, Rock’s brother Kenny opened up about the emotional toll the slap has taken on him. Will Smith has even apologized for his misconduct but Kenny does not buy it.

We can debate all we want about who was in the wrong for such an incident but cannot undermine the fact that Will overstepped the line. Comedians make jokes and more often than not the material might not please your ears. We will have to wait and see if the two can make up after such a mishap.
