Coi Leray is certainly gaining a lot of attention in the industry. As her debut album Trendsetters is soon to drop next Friday, Leray appeared on The Breakfast Club to talk about many things about her life. It turns out she’s single as well.
Leray touched upon the subjects of her own music, collaborating with Nicki Minaj and her developing relationship with her father. She also ended up confirming the suspicions of her not longer dating Pressa. She talked about why she felt the need to break up despite still being close.
The rappers started dating last year to the compliments from everyone talking about how compatible they seem. However, some tweets from the rapper seemingly addressed at Pressa aroused rumors that they were no longer together as a couple.
Leray was then asked about her relationship status in the interview. While she said that she loves him very much and remains friends with him, she explained that Pressa is still forging his identity after coming from Canada into the U.S.A.
I love Pressa. I think he is amazing, he is a sweet man, We’re still great friends. As a new artist, I feel like it’s selfish of me to paint you to what I would want you to be, knowing you can’t right now. Not only are you upcoming but you’re from Canada, coming into America. You have a different sound; you have an accent. You have to do a lot more things to make people gravitate towards you. And I might be a distraction, and you might be a distraction towards me right now ‘cause I’m still up and coming myself. It came down to that. It was a lot of distractions and a lot of focus messing up, but for both of us.
Coi Leray and Pressa are both up and coming artists, and her conception of them having to focus in building themselves up is fair. Even though they’re no longer together, they are good friends who support each other. (Clonazepam) She evidenced their commitment to their careers by revealing that after breaking up, both of them focused on being on tours.
