Jay-Z is widely considered one of hip-hop’s most renowned rappers. Hov is a successful businessman as well as a talented musician, and he is worth over a billion dollars for a clear reason. However, Jay-Z recently took aim at Faizon Love nearly two years after the actor claimed that the billionaire entrepreneur exaggerated claims about his drug-dealing past.
During his verse on Pusha T’s new song, “Neck & Wrist,” Jay-Z refuted Faizon Love’s claim that he lied about his past as a drug dealer. Despite the fact that Love’s remarks are nearly two years old, this is the first time he has addressed them.
On the new track, Jay raps:
“The phase I’m on, love, I wouldn’t believe it either/I’d be like, ‘Jay-Z’s a cheater,’ I wouldn’t listen to reason either/All I know is he’s a felon, how is he selling,”
During a visit on the Hip-Hop Uncensored podcast in 2020, Love defamed Jay-Z. “I like Jay-Z,” Love said at the time. “I like him as a guy and the whole thing he created about this fake dope dealing. That’s when I stopped liking him. This n***a ain’t sold no cocaine in his life—I don’t think he’s ever won a fight.”
Love went on to say more in another interview with VladTV at that time:
“I criticize him for it because it’s kinda his fault. Jay-Z creates this drug dealing drug lord, ‘I’ma drug dealer, I’ma drug lord.’ These kids are like, ‘We gotta do it, too.’ Not knowing that this is all made up shit.”
Jay also commented on Biggie’s death and how things would have been different if he was still alive in “Neck & Wrist.” However, stay tuned to Thirsty to get the recent updates about the Hip-Hop World.
