Elon Musk recently became the board member of Twitter. Almost at the same time Twitter revealed that an edit button will soon arrive, which was the most anticipated feature for its users. Elon may be one of the world’s richest man but he is not boring at all, as he sarcastically posted a meme on the platform he recently became the board member of.
Elon Must took to twitter to share a photo which feature a popular meme template. Elon edited it to make meme on his own state of affairs. The meme suggests that the recent twitter edit button announcement carries more weight than Elon’s Zip2 sell to Compaq, but it was all a domino effect leading to the world getting an edit button on Twitter.
Zip2 was the first enterprise founded by Elon Musk. It provided a searchable business directory that could be described as an Internet version of the yellow pages telephone directory. Compaq later acquired it for $305 million.
Getting confused by Elon Musk’s earlier poll that teased an edit button, users may think that Elon Musk joining the Twitter board brought the edit button to them but that may not be the case. Twitter addressed the poll themselves as well while revealing the news. Twitter said that “we have been working on the feature since last year and no, we didn’t get the idea from a poll.” Which is most likely to be the case since something can’t be developed overnight.
Although the feature won’t arrive immediately, it is still in testing phase. Twitter says that the feature will first be available to subscribers of the $3 per month premium subscription service Twitter Blue. However, it is a matter of time before the feature gets added into the free platform.
