LeBron James has made it obvious in recent months that he wants to play with his son Bronny at some time. However, LeBron has recently revealed what Bronny’s goal in Basketball is.
On the most recent episode of The Shop, which will premiere on HBO on Friday, April 8th, LeBron discussed Bronny and how much he wants to play alongside him. Bronny’s motivations were also discussed by LeBron, who noted that Bronny made the decision to pursue a professional career on his own. LeBron let Bronny make that decision on his own, and the two are currently on a collision path to play together.
“Not too long ago, I asked him, ‘What you wanna do with this? You wanna get to the pros? What you wanna do?’ He said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘Because I wanna make a name for myself. That’s all I needed to hear.”
LeBron has always stated that he wants his children to be free to pursue their dreams. He realizes how powerful his influence is, and he would never compel them to do something they don’t want to do. Bronny, on the other hand, clearly has a tremendous passion for basketball, and it will undoubtedly propel him further.
The Sierra Canyon standout is ranked 34th among recruits heading into 2023, and many believe he will be drafted in the second round of the NBA Entry Draft in 2024. LeBron plans to play until at least 2025, which means there’s a good chance he’ll get to play alongside his son.
