Jimmy Kimmel is the host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a late-night talk show that premiered on ABC on January 26, 2003. Kimmel recently made a joke about Marjorie Greene Taylor, which triggered her, and she reported him to the police. Jimmy didn’t appear to be ready to back down, as he mocked her once more.
Jimmy Kimmel and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene are feuding after Kimmel mocked the controversial Georgia politician on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Greene dubbed the “QAnon congresswoman,” used typical QAnon language in a tweet referencing Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, in which she referred to her political opponents as “pro-pedophile.”
“… Marjorie Taylor Greene, this woman, Klan mom, is especially upset with the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote yes on Ketanji Brown Jackson, who’s nominated for the Supreme Court. She tweeted, ‘Murkowski, Collins and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for KBJ.’ Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him?”
Greene took Kimmel’s reference to Will Smith’s infamous Oscar slap very seriously, describing Kimmel’s monologue as a “threat of violence against me” in a Twitter post, and claiming to have reported the joke to Capitol Police. Kimmel appeared amused by Greene’s reaction on Twitter and continued to mock the Georgia representative.
Later in his show, Kimmel addressed his tweet, saying, “So I made a joke, I said ‘where is Will Smith when you need him’ she saw it and decided to get some political mileage out of this, this is what she does instead of working, she tweets.” Then he read her tweet amusingly, stating, “She called the police and tweeted this. Not only did she call the police, she called the same police she voted against giving a congressional gold medal to for defending our capitol against the insurgent… she helped insight on January 6.”
He continued, “It’s amazing how quickly these liberals who can’t see anything anymore to what did you say I’ll call the cops.”
“I after processing the fact that someone called the cops on me, believe it or not this never happened to me in my life, I tweeted back, I wrote, ‘Officer? I would like to report a joke.'”
Kimmel then referred to her as a “snowflake” and addressed her tweet, “You weren’t joking. You hide your misogyny and your racism behind your “jokes” on @ABC. This was a dog whistle to the violent left to assault me or worse, and your already inspiring fantasies of violence against me. How many new death threats will I get that are your fans?” Kimmel then stated that after she reported him to Capitol police, he is going to report her to Batman.
It appears that neither of them will back down, and their feud will last a long time. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
