Megan Rapinoe believes that Dwayne Johnson stole the logo of her fiancée’s company for his new XFL branding. She is now asking that the actor change it before bringing legal action against him.
On Thursday, only one day after Dwayne introduced his football organization’s new “X” design on social media, the soccer icon justified her feud with The Rock, stating she thinks his new logo looks too much like Sue Bird’s Togethxr’s.
Rapinoe further stated that if he does not make changes soon, Bird’s team will send him a cease and desist letter. “Welp. This is awkward,” Rapinoe said. “Only thing @TheRock and @XFL2023 are gonna be cookin up is a response to the Cease and Desist and an ENTIRE new brand ID. @togethxr got this on [lock] boys.”
Togethxr was founded by Bird and other prominent female athletes several years ago with the goal of promoting equality in the media and highlighting the accomplishments of women in sports. They employed a unique “X” as part of their emblem. Rapinoe and Bird have made it clear that The Rock’s “X” symbol is too similar to Togethxr’s, and they aren’t going to let it slip. “Doesn’t this look familiar,” Bird asked of The Rock’s new look.
There’s no information on whether The Rock is aware of the two athletes’ complaints or if he has any plans to adjust his image in the future. Dwayne Johnson, on the other hand, seemed excited about the new logo when he announced it on Wednesday. Keep checking back with Thirsty for more information!
