Chris Rock Says He Just Got His Hearing Back After Will Smith Slap

Chris Rock hasn’t really talked about the Oscars fiasco that unfolded during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. He does talk about the incident rarely but never actually addresses it. He revealed a reason behind it and made a hilarious joke about the altercation.

While performing his show on national comedy tour at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in California’s Coachella Valley, Rock told the audience the following. He joked he got his hearing back but refused to elaborate on the incident further, per Desert Sun.

“I’m OK, I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back,” Rock said

That being said Chris did not explain what he meant by “Until I get paid.” It’s unlikely that Academy hasn’t paid him yet for his incredible performance at the ceremony. He could probably be hinting a civil lawsuit against Will Smith which would definitely pay him hefty amount.

Will Smith has continued to face the consequences for the use of violence against Rock. Netflix has dropped his ongoing projects and several others joined as well. He has been banned from attending Oscars for next ten years as his punishment.

We will just have to wait and find out what Chris meant by his joke, maybe he feels like he hasn’t been offered enough yet. He could also be waiting for some Network to pay him massive amount to talk about the incident.
