Squid Game’s first season captivated consumers around the world. The show has majorly influenced the current state of pop culture. The director and writer Hwang Dong-hyuk of the superhit show has now confirmed the return of the two key characters.
The show’s creator and actor Park Hae-soo joined TV editor Peter White for Deadline’s annual Contenders Television at Paramount Studios to talk about what fans might expect from the upcoming installation of the season of the Korean dystopian drama. The director revealed return of the two big names.
“Gi-hun for sure. He will be back and I believe the Front Man will back too,”
The Squid Game creator also teased to the outlet about the return of HoYeon Jung, who plays the North Korean refugee contestant on the series, as her own evil twin sister. Whereas, Gi-hun the Squid Game protagonist is played by actor Lee Jung-jae.
Even though the return of these characters was expected for a long time, this is Hwang’s first public acknowledgment of the topic. As Netflix’s most-watched show ever preparing for the second season fans are eager to see what the cast has to offer to the pop culture.
