Grimes Bares All For Dion Lee Campaign

Art-pop musician Grimes who is mainly known for incorporating quirky styles in her music is an avid fashion enthusiast. Her style largely reflects her music themes described as “otherworldly” at times. She decided to pose naked for Dion Lee.

Grimes completely bared her backside from top to bottom in a provocative picture for the Australian Fashion designer’s SS/22 campaign. The 34-year-old musician posed Lee’s reef net skirt in another photo, which showcased her hips and legs.

Grimes told British Vogue on Wednesday that her favorite piece from the collection was the Italian French coat “because it feels very androgynous anime.” It’s no secret that Grimes is a big anime fan. The influences of anime can be seen in her art.

Grimes was then asked why she chose to be a part of Dion Lee’s campaign and what does she like about Lee’s work, to which she replied, “I’ve been a big fan of Dion for a long time! His work looks like it exists in Dune. Medieval sci-fi energy.”

“Human and animal bodies are the most primal means of expression. In the earliest stages of evolution, physical aesthetics were perfected by the process of natural selection as a means of communication. (TBH even single-celled organisms look good.) Bodies are probably the first canvas for ideas, before creatures could even be self-aware enough to have ideas. So I think style is important,” Grimes said about importance of fashion in her life.

Sci-fi themes and the influence of anime have always been seen in Grimes’ projects. The Canadian musician shares two children with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The two made major headlines when they started dating in 2018.
