LeBron James’ contributions to the world of professional basketball will never be forgotten. For many, King James is the true GOAT of basketball and it isn’t hard to see why. He also won’t be signing a contract extension by the looks of it.
Earlier this year, James made it clear that he is not against making a return to one of his previous teams – the Cleaveland Cavaliers. James made this announcement after stating in the past he wants to end his NBA career as part of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Naturally, fans were not happy with what LeBron James said. During his exit interview for the season, James revealed that he cannot talk about his future with the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, LeBron James is considering playing out his present contract. This means he will be a free agent once Summer 2023 comes.
“Based on my conversations with people who have a strong sense of such things, it’s clear James is considering playing out this contract rather than signing a two-year extension this summer. If flexibility and freedom are the goals here, James (who is owed $44.4 million next season) could go back to the year-by-year approach he perfected in his second Cleveland stop.”
We will have to wait and see whether LeBron James really will end up returning to the Cleaveland Cavaliers after so long. Fans will have mixed feelings about this decision.
