Elon Musk has been toying with the idea of a hostile takeover of Twitter. The Tesla head recently purchased a 9% stake in the social media juggernaut. Musk has been upset with the company because of what he says are free speech issues.
Musk offered over $40 billion to buy the company outright and take it private. Elon’s outrage against the company stems from ongoing investigations about his use of the platform to pump up stock and cryptocurrency prices in his favor. Musk almost got a seat on the board after purchasing his 9% of Twitter, but things didn’t work out.
This morning, Elon Musk made the offer and filed the appropriate paperwork with the Securities Exchange Commission. Twitter has not responded yet. NFL legend Tom Brady wants Musk to know that if he does buy it, he would like a small favor.
“If you buy twitter can you delete the combine photo? @elonmusk”
Tom Brady is referring to a photo of him from the NFL Scouting Combine the year he was drafted. Brady looked pudgy as he posed topless wearing a pair of shorts. Fans have been making fun of Brady for the image ever since.
Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter so that he can make it his own personal playground. Without having to answer stockholders, he could do pretty much anything he wants. Staffers have been horrified at the thought of a takeover. Tom Brady just wants his humiliating photo erased.
