Anderson Silva is touted as one of the best fighters in MMA history for many reasons. He faced numerous top names in the MMA world when he used to be active. Following his UFC release a couple of years ago, Silva made it clear he wasn’t finished in combat sports at all. Jake Paul has been paying attention and Silva is on his hit list along with many others.
While speaking on The Fight podcast, Jake Paul talked about possible opponents for his next boxing match. Paul named the likes of Anderson Silva and Floyd Mayweather.
“Yeah, we are still locking down opponents, you know. There’s a lot of names…You know Floyd Mayweather…De La Hoya, Anderson Silva… Tyson Fury, Sunny Williams out of Australia. So there is a lot of people in the hit list and um, the other names that we’re talking to, you know… Just trying to pick the biggest opponent right. Everyone I have fought, and I am not trying to be like arrogant but everyone I have fought, I have carried the promotion… No one has matched my star. No one has matched my power. So looking for that opponent that can match my star power. “
The Spider faced off against Ortiz on September 11 last year at Triller Club in his second boxing match. Silva did not have much trouble defeating Ortiz whatsoever.
Silva also previously noted that he is not against facing against Jake Paul in a boxing match. However, Michael Bisping doubts Jake Paul can beat Anderson Silva in a boxing match.
Dana White also guaranteed Anderson Silva will never fight Jake Paul. It remains to be seen whether Anderson Silva and Jake Paul will duke it out or not. If not, there is always Mayweather, among others.
