Lorde took the world of pop by storm after the release of her album Pure Heroine in 2013. Even since then, she’s been releasing content and recently surprised her fans with the release of her new EP, which is a collection of 5 reworked songs from her third studio album, Solar Power. It seems she had to postpone concert dates recently due to a horrendous infection in her throat.
Lorde is recovering from a bout of laryngitis. According to WVIT, the Grammy Award winner postponed her Friday show recently at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, saying it was physically impossible for her to perform.
Connecticut — these past couple days I’ve been pushing through some horrendous laryngitis, and I regret to inform you that my voice hasn’t sufficiently recovered to be able to play the show for you tonight. I’m so, so sorry. I don’t take postponing a show lightly.
In addition to Friday’s Connecticut gig, she has rescheduled Saturday’s Washington, D.C. show for the second North American leg of her tour, which begins in August, according to Rolling Stone. She tried everything but it’s physically impossible for her to sing in that condition.
I’ve tried everything, and unfortunately, it’s physically impossible for me to sing much of the set. Please accept my sincere apologies. All well besides that, and absolutely frothing to party with you when I am able.
After releasing her third studio album in August, Lorde began her Solar Power global tour last week in Nashville. It’s also her first tour since the COVID-19 outbreak began. In an email to her followers, the Melodrama singer previously discussed loneliness during the pandemic. Thirsty wishes her a speedy recovery.
