It’s been over a year since WWE announced that they have collaborated with Netflix for Vince McMahon’s documentary. We haven’t heard much about it since. Luckily, we have received an update on the current state of production.
According to PW Insider, the documentary is still in production at this time. It was also noted that the final product might include recent events from WrestleMania 38, such as McMahon’s interactions with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Pat McAfee.
The four-part docuseries was advertised as “one of the highest-budgeted documentaries in Netflix history” at the time of its introduction. Bill Simmons is the executive producer for the project. At the same time, the co-producer, Chris Smith, is working alongside WWE Studios to shape the product.
Vince McMahon has pushed the company to where it is today since he took control over it in 1982. WWE stands at the forefront of the wrestling scene, which says lot about McMahon’s tireless efforts.
Vince McMahon is 76-years-old and still regularly hits gym to stay in shape. He has several other business ventures aside from WWE which will also be likely featured into the documentary.
WWE is presently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world. Naturally, fans are curious to see the life of the man behind the company documented in a film series. We will report on the release date for the series as soon as it is available. Stay tuned to Thirsty until then.
