In February 2019, YNW Melly turned himself in for a double-murder and has been in prison since then, awaiting his fate. Just a week ago, prosecutors were granted the right to submit photos of Melly’s tattoos as proof and now a new update has come up on Melly’s Instagram feed.
Melly posted a photo of himself showing off his watch and chain. The caption read, “To all my loved ones and close friends, I wanted to let everyone know that my phone privileges have been revoked. I am no longer allowed to call or have video visitation, that is the reason why no one has received any calls from me.”
Melly also assured his fans that they have nothing to worry about. “Do not worry, I am in great spirits. My happiness and faith will never be broken. Happy Easter to all my fans and family and friends,” he wrote.
According to Lawyer for Workers CEO Muhammed Gangat, the news of Melly’s tattoos being used by the prosecution would lead to the death penalty that lawyers have been trying to avoid.
The prosecutors say that that is going to be evidence that they are going to use to prove that one of the reasons behind this murder was gang affiliation. Under Florida law, that’s an enhancement. It subjects you to, I think, the death penalty if you get convicted of murder with a gang connection,” Gangat shared.
Other celebrities, Meek Mill and Boosie Badazz sent prayers to YNW Melly for his long-awaited trial. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates on this case.
