Macklemore and Marshawn Lynch are now business partners in a field that is completely new to both of them.
On Monday, the National Hockey League announced that Macklemore, a rapper, and Marshawn Lynch, an ex-NFL are now minority owners of the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken.
Kraken is the league’s newest franchise and both Macklemore, Grammy award winner, and Lynch, Pro Bowler, and Super Bowl champ are getting involved since the very beginning.
The CEO of the team, Told Leiweke admitted that initially, he was a bit shocked the two of them approached the team last year. He also said that their goal to uplift the Seattle community proved to be a significant addition to the team.
Macklemore undoubtedly can be a great source of pre or post-game entertainment. Seattle being his hometown, he says he has nostalgic ties to the team’s arena.
Also, Macklemore has plans of utilizing his association with the team to cross-brand with his Hip Hop-centered, youth development program, The Residency, to foster kids in the area.
