Shaquille O’Neal Covering Funeral Expenses For 3-Year-Old Victim Of Gun Violence

Collateral damage from violent fights that break out is always the worst. One such terrible incident happened in Baton Rouge last Tuesday when a 3-year-old boy fell victim to a stray bullet. Multiple outlets reported that an NBA legend is covering the funeral expenses for the family mourning their loss.

The victim Devin Page Jr. was sleeping in his home when the stray bullet from a gunfight struck and killed him. WBRZ reports, the tragic incident happened in the locality of Baton Rouge in Louisiana on April 12th.

It was also noted that the retired NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has taken up the responsibility of covering the funeral costs of the preschooler. This is indeed a great deed from a great basketball player.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. Me and a pastor friend are going to take care of everything,” O’Neal, an alum of Louisiana State University, said over FaceTime footage obtained by WBRZ. “I’m so sorry.”

O’Neal has teamed up with Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Church for the memorial service. According to the outlet, an investigation regarding the incident is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.
