Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, the angry ex-lovers are presently locked in a vicious legal battle in Virginia. Depp accuses his ex-wife of defaming him in a Washington Post op-ed published in 2019. While reliving her time with the Hollywood stars, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s former private nurse ripped on the actress.
Heard never mentioned her ex by name, but Depp believes she was referring to him. He claims the newspaper falsely accused him of domestic violence, causing him to be shunned in town. Depp claims that the Aquaman star made up the abuse charges in order to get a favorable divorce settlement and has been living with the lie ever since.
According to court documents obtained by the Independent, Depp believes he is due $50 million in damages. Heard denies making up the allegations and is suing Depp for $100 million in retaliation. Debbie Lloyd, the couple’s former nurse, testified before the jury again. Dr. David Kipper was hired to help Depp detox from various substances, and she worked for him. Kipper spent nearly six years working for the two.
In 2011, Heard and Depp met on the production of the film The Rum Diary and married the following year. They married in 2015, and Heard filed for divorce the following year. Lloyd revealed Depp’s battles to go off drugs during her deposition. He is said to have informed her that he fears he will be unable to function without certain medications.
Lloyd also spoke about Depp’s infamous 2014 detox trip to his private island in the Bahamas. Heard one night that he assaulted her. He denies the claim. Kipper claimed he had never heard of the brawl, while Lloyd claimed he remembered the two men fighting. After he allegedly punched a wall, she discovered Depp with bleeding knuckles.
Lloyd testified to the jury that Heard tried to start confrontations with her then-husband. The nurse recounted one event in which Depp attempted to flee Heard but was pursued by her.
These kinds of situations, according to Lloyd, occur frequently. She stated that she never witnessed Depp get physical with Heard and that she never saw Depp turn violent with her. The nurse’s evidence is set to end today, with Depp taking the stand the following day.
