Vince McMahon Wanted The Rock To Wrestle A Bear

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson remains one of the most popular pro wrestlers to have competed inside the squared circle. He has done it all when it comes to being a pro wrestler. Vince McMahon also had a bizarre plan for him.

The Rock is known by many nicknames. Among those includes the Brahma Bull. Due to this nickname, Vince McMahon ended up pitching a bizarre match for him.

While speaking on Something To Wrestle With, Bruce Prichard said that Vince McMahon wanted to do something interesting when WWE was set to be listed on the New York Stock exchange. McMahon asked Prichard to find a bear to wrestle with The Rock.

“Shut Wall Street down and put a ring there and have matches at noon. Huge spectacle, we’re gonna go live on WWF.com [now WWE], so it’s like, okay, cool. I thought he was just kind of like telling me this. So that I knew that, ‘Okay, we need to put together a show, we need to come up with something.’ But what he was telling me was, ‘Hey, I want to do this, get it done. As he’s trailing off he goes, ‘…and I want a bear! I want The Rock to wrestle a bear. ‘The Brahma Bull’ versus The Bear. The honest to God living wrestling bear, which used to be an attraction back in the day.”

Thankfully logic prevailed and the match was never made official. Vince McMahon is known for a lot of crazy ideas and this was just one of them.
