Elon Musk Claims ‘Woke Mind Virus’ Is Making Netflix Unwatchable

Elon Musk turned the business world upside down when he announced his plan to buy Twitter for $43 billion. Elon Musk may be the richest man on the planet, but he isn’t consuming an enormously large quantity of goods for himself. It seems Musk recently commented on Netflix being unwatchable.

Elon Musk was apparently referring to Netflix’s recent backlash for programming that was deemed restrictive in a variety of ways in his tweet. Netflix also recorded their first subscriber loss in over 10 years. Elon Musk expressed his thoughts on Netflix just hours after the streaming platform’s value plummeted by roughly 25%.

The woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable.

In reaction to a piece claiming that this was the first time in ten years that Netflix has witnessed such a drop in subscriptions, the Tesla CEO tweeted without remorse. Musk was apparently referring to the OTT behemoth’s recent backlash over content that was deemed restrictive in multiple ways.

For example, Netflix was chastised last year for Dave Chappelle’s stand-up special, The Closer, which was widely regarded as transphobic. This isn’t the first time Elon Musk has equated being awakened to a virus. The tech billionaire had previously warned that “wokeness” is the greatest menace to civilization. Musk claimed that political correctness is one of the greatest threats to society in an interview with the parody website Babylon Bee.

Musk slammed attempts to cancel Dave Chappelle in particular, as well as the “woke agenda” and “cancel culture.” Meanwhile, Netflix’s stock has plummeted after the company reported less-than-favorable quarterly earnings. The OTT platform had 221.6 million customers at the end of the first quarter of 2022, significantly less than in the final quarter of 2021.
