Elon Musk’s Tesla, Inc. has garnered a lot of praise from the world for its unique engineering. However, the Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage doesn’t seem to share the same sentiment.
Cage, who won an Oscar for best actor for his performance in “Leaving Las Vegas,” recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. During the late night show he spoke about his business ventures and his experience about living in Vegas. Somewhere during the talk he also put some blame on Elon Musk.
Cage told the talk show host that he even secured $80 million to create a movie studio in Las Vegas, but Elon Musk’s Tesla ruined his plans. He implied he would have got the studio if it weren’t for Musk’s company.
“I tried to get a movie studio built there [Las Vegas] and then Elon Musk came in, and all the money I got for the movie studio — I got $80 million — they put into the Tesla corporation, which then ironically drained all of the water out of the city. But I almost got it, I almost got a movie studio.”
The 58-year-old actor appeared on the show to promote his film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. In the movie, he plays a fictionalized version of himself. The movie is set to hit theaters on Friday.
The actor seems to be bitter that Las Vegas opted to put the money into the Tesla corporation instead of the movie studio he yearned for. Maybe he can try to pursue investors again.
