Dave Chappelle has been dealing with all sorts of controversies ever since last year. The legendary comic dropped his comedy special ‘The Closer.’ While his special ended up causing a lot of uproar, including the resignation of a Netflix trans employee Terra Field resigning, the star has scored a great gig.
Chappelle is all set to be the host of the Blue Note Jazz Festival, that will be held in Napa Valley in July. The festival has had a 10-year long tradition of being hosted in New York City. Napa will be the location for the festival for the very first time.
The festival comes from behalf of the Blue Note Jazz club, which is famous for its championship of the greatest rap musicians in the scene. The headliners for the festival include huge names from jazz and hip-hop, such as Erykah Badu, D Smoke, Corinne Bailey Rae, Talib Kweli and Maurice Brown with Anderson.Paak.
Blue Note New York tweeted the announcement for the event. The tweet details that the event is going to be a “multi-day, multi-stage festival.” It’ll be held in the Charles Krug Winery grounds in St. Helena, CA, on July 30th to 31st.
Dave Chappelle’s rise to fame happened in the early 2000s, with the immense success of his sketch-comedy series Chappelle’s Show. The comedian took a long hiatus, making his return in 2016 through a deal with Netflix, under which he has released 6 comedy specials.
