Kanye West has been worried about the safety of his family. Justified or not, Ye believes his divorce from Kim Kardashian will have devastating effects on the couple’s children. Kanye has not been shy about sharing his feelings, and most recently put them on wax on a track from Pusha-T’s latest release.
“It’s Almost Dry” is the anticipated new album from Pusha. Ye features on the track “Dreamin of the Past.” In his verse on the song, West says that he believes his family is in danger since the couple’s ugly split.
“Born in the manger, the son of a stranger. When daddy’s not home, the family’s in danger (And my heart was beatin’ fast).”
Kanye West also rapped about his family situation on the song “Rock N Roll.” The track was Ye’s final collaboration with Kid Cudi after Cudi cut off all professional ties with Kanye. West referenced fights breaking out when he goes to pick up the kids from Kim K.
Most of this was recorded before Kanye West took a break from social media. Ye decided to seek help for his mental health issues and to become a better person and father. It’s worth keeping in mind that these tracks weren’t recorded yesterday. Kanye was in a different frame of mind.
Time will tell how his journey towards rehabilitating himself works out. For now, Kanye has a hip-hop diary of his trials and tribulations relating to his family. Things could change, but it’s an interesting look into the mind of a very complicated man.
