The Covid wave might have tamed down in Hollywood, but a few celebrities are still catching it. One of the most popular late night talk show hosts recently tested positive for the virus in an unfortunate turn of events.
The official Twitter account of The Late Show announced that Stephen Colbert has tested positive for coronavirus. This led showrunners to cancel Thursday’s taping of his late-night talk show.
“Stephen Colbert has tested positive for Covid 19. Tonight’s show is canceled,” the page wrote. “As previously planned, the show will be airing repeats tomorrow through next week. We will return with new episodes on May 2nd,” the account wrote.
Stephen Colbert confirmed the announcement on his Twitter by quote tweeting the aforementioned tweet. Additionally, he assured his followers that he has taken the vaccination as well as the booster. He expressed gratitude for the well wishes he received and cracked little joke about interviewing Jason Bateman. You can read his tweet below.
“Yep! I tested positive for Covid, but basically I’m feeling fine- grateful to be vaxxed and boosted. Thank you for the well wishes. This just proves that I will do anything to avoid interviewing Jason Bateman,” Colbert wrote.
Colbert’s joke referenced the guests of the now-canceled episode that was set to feature Ozark stars Bateman and Laura Linney. We wish him nothing but a fast recovery so that he soon gets back making masses laugh.
