Two weeks have passed since the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial began. A make-up brand, Milani Cosmetics, was pulled into the entire drama by Heard’s lawyer with a pretty bold claim.
During an opening statement last week, one of the Heard’s lawyers said that the actress would often put on make-up by the said cosmetic brand on her face to hide marks allegedly left by her then husband, Johnny Depp.
Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, held up a specific Milani cosmetic kit in front of the jury. She claimed it was one of the items that the actress carried during the abuse period. The brand refuted the claims by saying that particular product wasn’t in existence at that time.
The time period of alleged abuse where Amber might have used the product is between 2012 and 2016, before the former couple divorced. However, the problem is Milani correcting kit only came into existence in 2017.
The company took to TikTok addressing the claims made by Heard’s attorney and wrote, “You asked us… let the record show that our Correcting Kit launched in 2017!.” The brand added a clip pulling up the receipts of when the product was actually released. You can watch the video below.
So in a nutshell, Amber Heard’s legal team made a massive blunder in their opening statement. Hopefully, this will be held against them and the truth that Depp so much wants the world to see comes out to public light soon.
