Drake took to Instagram on Saturday to celebrate the team’s 110-102 win over the 76ers. The home victory not only kept Toronto’s season alive. After the win, Drake had some words for Joel Embiid, who promised Philadelphia would complete a first-round sweep.
On Wednesday, the NBA star told Drake, “That’s what you call a fucking superstar, Get your ass out. I’m coming for that sweep too.” after the 76ers took home a 3-0 series lead against Toronto. The exchange inspired countless memes and jokes directed at Drake, who was mocked for appearing to be in high spirits despite his team’s loss.
It appears the rapper only had to wait a few days to get his sweet revenge. Taking immense pride in his team’s performance, Drake took a shot at Embiid while making a direct reference to the trash-talk between the two after Game 3.
After the Raptors forced a Game 5, the Certified Lover Boy taunted Embiid with a photoshopped Instagram post. The original image showed Raptors’ Scottie Barnes holding up the NBA Rookie of the Year Award trophy that he received Saturday. Drake did some quick editing, and replaced the trophy with a baby’s body that had Embidd’s head.
Drake said in the caption, “What happened to that sweep, Jojo?” before adding, “See you when you get back.” Considering the drastic shift in momentum and with the series heading to an unlikely Game 5, the Toronto Raptors will hope to hand Philadelphia one of the biggest upsets in franchise history.
