The case of Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion has turned into one of the most bizarre stories in hip-hop. Megan claims that Tory got mad about an argument and began to wildly fire a gun at her. Lanez allegedly hit Megan in the foot with one of the shots.
The ongoing court battle in the wake of the shooting has led to plenty of public barbs being thrown. The latest came as Megan appeared on CBS Mornings with Gayle King to discuss the incident. Her demeanor was a far cry from the fun-loving performer fans saw at Coachella.
Megan Thee Stallion claims that after the shooting, Tory was hugely apologetic. Knowing how badly he messed up, Tory offered Megan a million dollars to keep her mouth shut. Megan was not interested in talking money in the moments after being shot.
“He’s apologizing, like, ‘I’m so sorry. Please don’t tell nobody. I’ll give y’all a million dollars if y’all don’t say nothing.’ And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Like, ‘Why are you offering me money right now?’ Help me. Like, and if you’re sorry, just help me.”
Megan was worried that the police might kill them once they arrived. She instead told the officers that she had stepped on glass. In the moment of panic, Megan didn’t know what to do.
Tory Lanez was sent to jail after a judge determined he violated a protective order by rapping about the incident. Lanez posted bail and has since been released. The next court date in the wild case is set for August 17.
