Johnny Depp Laughs At Amber Heard’s Lawyer For Objecting To His Own Question

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are presently in court after Depp filed a $50 million defamation claim against Heard in response to an op-ed she penned in the Washington Post in 2018 about her experiences with domestic abuse. During his $50 million defamation lawsuit in Virginia, Johnny Depp was seen laughing at Amber Heard’s lawyer after the lawyer objected to his own question.

As the actor’s house manager, Ben King, testified, he recalled an incident in which Depp’s finger was severed, prompting Amber Heard’s lawyer, Ben Rottenborn, to halt his statement citing a ‘hearsay objection.’ The Pirates of the Caribbean actor and his lawyer both giggled quietly in response to the objection.

The judge added: “Wait, you asked the question.”

However, this isn’t the first time hearsay evidence has thrown a wrench into the defamation case. While talking about a chef making Heard’s favorite Mexican meal for her birthday, the 58-year-old actor caught himself and said, “That’s hearsay, I guess.”

According to ABC News, the Edward Scissorhands star concluded his testimony by claiming to be a victim of domestic abuse. The actor is suing his ex-wife for defamation after she claimed to have been a victim of physical and emotional abuse in a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post. He ended his testimony by stating that he was a victim of domestic violence.
