Terry Alan Crews is an American actor, television presenter, and former American football linebacker. Terry will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although he will not star in any Marvel Studios films. Instead, Disney Parks revealed that the Brooklyn 99 actor will star in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind experience, which will debut at Walt Disney World Resort’s EPCOT next month.
Crews will play Centurion Tal Marik, a close advisor to Nova Prime (played by Glenn Close, returning her role from the original Guardians of the Galaxy film), and you can see a first look at him below. Marik is a one-of-a-kind character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who isn’t a well-known Marvel figure.

Crews may have been recruited by filmmaker James Gunn earlier this year when Crews mentioned his fondness of Rom: The Spaceknight, a character that debuted in a series of Marvel comics in the 1980s but is not officially owned by Marvel. When a fan asked whether he could include Rom in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film, Gunn said he couldn’t due to a rights issue, to which Crews replied, “Damn! I loved the ROM series…!”
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be the first Marvel-themed attraction at Disney World. Disney is unable to utilize most Marvel characters east of the Mississippi River due to a licensing arrangement with Universal Studios, however this does not appear to apply to the Guardians of the Galaxy. An Avengers Campus with various Marvel attractions can be found at other Disney parks, such as Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
The new attraction is a one-of-a-kind “story-coaster” that will convey a story about the Guardians, Celestial Eson, and Nova Corps. Riders will not only be able to view the story unfold in 360 degrees, but they will also be able to ride Disney World’s first ever “reverse launch” coaster. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster will also be one of the world’s longest enclosed coasters. On May 27th, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open on May 27th.
