Tim Westwood has been mired in controversy after several women accused him of sexual assault. Several have claimed that Tim used his fame and position to exploit and take advantage of them. The allegations of predatory behavior have now led Tim to step down from a high-profile British radio gig.

Westwood will step down from his Capital Xtra radio show in the UK for an indefinite period. The influential British rap DJ has denied the claims. Capital Xtra parent company Global Media & Entertainment issued a brief statement on the matter, according to the BBC.

“Following the claims that have recently come to light, Tim Westwood has stepped down from his show until further notice”

A joint investigation between the BBC and The Guardian uncovered the stories of seven women who alleged they were assaulted or mistreated by Tim Westwood. These incidents occurred between 1992 and 2017. The 64-year-old DJ has been in the business for a long time, but that run may be coming to an end.

The women have accused Westwood of unwanted touching and unexpected sexual encounters. One claimed she was forced to perform oral sex on Westwood. Four of them said they were groped without their consent.

Tim Westwood has vehemently denied the allegations against him. There was no evidence found of any complaints to Global relating to Westwood. Right now, it is Tim’s word against his accusers, but more information is sure to come to light.
