Virginia-bred Pusha T has collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye “Ye” West on several occasions. Both members of The Throne appear on Pusha’s latest studio album, It’s Almost Dry. Kanye West appeared with Kid Cudi on the It’s Almost Dry tracks “Dreamin of the Past” and “Rock n Roll.” Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams have both been credited for their contributions to “Neck & Wrist.”
Pusha T stopped by SiriusXM while on tour in support of his fourth album. Swaggy Sie of Hip-Hop Nation questioned the G.O.O.D. Music representative about Ye and Hov. Pusha declared Jay-Z as the best rapper alive and gave huge props to Kanye West’s genius.
I feel like Ye, at his heart of hearts, is just a Hip Hop purist. He’s like 90s/2000s level, that’s where he wants to be at. I feel like when he works with me, it’s like that’s all I want to make. Of course, it’s always like the updated or futuristic version of it, but that’s all I want to make.
The majority of Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry project was produced by Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. During the same Hip-Hop Nation interview, Push mentioned Ye’s fondness for a particular era of the genre. It’s Almost Dry was released on April 22nd.
According to industry experts, Pusha T’s latest album is on track to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, marking his first chart-topper. Jay-Z and Kanye West famously collaborated on 2011’s 5x Platinum-certified Watch the Throne LP. Check out the video below.
