Katy Perry Falls Out Of Her Chair Dressed In Ariel Costume For American Idol’s Disney Night

Katy Perry has established herself as one of the most iconic artists of all time. The performer is no stranger to facing wardrobe malfunctions. Recently, she took a a tumble on Sunday’s episode of American Idol when she fell out of her chair while wearing an Ariel costume.

The 37-year-old pop star was dressed as The Little Mermaid character for Disney Night on the ABC singing competition show. Katy had trouble walking in the rigid costume and was helped by fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest as she took her center seat at the judges’ table.

They wheeled Katy in using a dolly and helped the singer get in her chair. Ryan then started to introduce the first contestant, but was interrupted by a crashing noise. As the camera panned towards the judges’ table it showed Katy upended with her fish tail only up in the air

Luke pointed and laughed at Katy before joining Lionel and Ryan in helping her up. Ryan proceeded to ask, ‘Are you okay? Are you alright?,’ as Katy replied ‘yes’. Twitter reacted immediately with people posting about her pratfall as they quipped the singer should not have been given a chair with wheels.
