Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are fighting it out in Virginia court. Recently, Heard filed a motion to dismiss Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit but it seems things didn’t work out in her favor.
According to Deadline, Judge Penny Azcarate rejected Heard’s motion to toss out Depp’s lawsuit. The judge stated that more than enough evidence had been presented by Depp’s lawyers to keep the case afloat. A big win for Depp indeed.
It was also noted, Attorney’s of the both parties presented oral arguments on the said motion on Tuesday morning. The motion is just a formality when plaintiff’s are done presenting their case. With all the evidence that Depp has provided, it was expected Heard’s motion would tossed right out.
As you may know Depp sued Amber Heard for the article she published on Washington Post op-ed about surviving domestic abuse at the hand of Pirates of the Caribbean actor. Heard then countersued Depp for $100 million and so all the legal battle began.
Depp has seen support from virtually everyone in the world throughout the ongoing case. Whereas, things weren’t looking good for Heard during the weeks-long trial. We have to wait and see how this suit concludes in near future.
