Drake is one of the hottest pop acts in the industry. The Canadian artist has given many hits over the years. It seems his fake version is back in town with some tea.
Despite jumping from city to city dressed as Drake, booking club events dressed as Drake, and even bragging about how the rapper isn’t mad at him for trying to live off Drake’s perks, Fake Drake insists that he isn’t trying to be anyone but himself. The new wave consists of ordinary people who look like rappers and capitalize on their resemblance.
We recently witnessed “Perkio,” or Lil Durk’s lookalike, not only causing havoc at a local mall after fans mistook him for the real thing, but also being hired by the Chicago rapper for a music video. Perkio’s fame followed that of Fake Drake, who took over social media after being caught hopping from one club to the next in Miami.
Fake Drake claims his personality and demeanor are all him, not a Drake wannabe. After recently making an appearance with Perkio, giving us “Laugh Now, Cry Later” 2.0. When Drake was promoting Certified Lover Boy, he was even asked if he had the same heart-shaped haircut as Drake.
This is just who I am. I’m just like, I’m just going with the flow, you know? I didn’t ask to become famous. I act like Drake? I’ve had the heart for like a year and a half. Nah, ’cause I have the heart because you know, if you do things with your heart it’s come back.
The ladies who interviewed him said he looks and acts like Drake. He wouldn’t say whether he got the cut before Drake. He also hinted that he saw Drake wearing a jacket he owned years ago. Obviously, he’s having a good time stirring the pot. Take a look at it below.
